Realmark Commercial Sales and Leasing Consultant, Alix Proudlove is one of these women, and has become one of the premiere retail sales and leasing professionals in her field.

Following a career in commercial administration, Alix joined Realmark, where she began her career in retail sales and leasing.

“If it weren’t for Realmark giving me a go, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in now and I’m very thankful for that,” Ms Proudlove said.

“I was given the opportunity to work on a shopping centre promotional campaign and from there on I was hooked to retail property.

“Soon after, opportunities arose for me to work on esteemed projects such as ONE Subiaco development and Adelaide’s Parafield District Outlet Centre development project along with liaising with top developers such as Blackburn and Hesperia.”

But retail sales and leasing is not short of its challenges, as the role demands long hours, tough negotiations and constant hard work.

“Transitioning from an admin role, I still found myself doing a lot of the administrative tasks, so it was important to make sure I didn’t get bogged down in work I didn’t need to be doing and prove to everyone that I can do this,” she said.

“Similarly, dealing with established agents and clients can be daunting at times, especially when they may have differing opinions, so ensuring I had the knowledge to feel confident and not doubt my decision-making was important to me.”

Taking great pride in witnessing Alix’s growth is Realmark Director of People and Culture, Anita Percudani, who commends her on the things she has already achieved.

“Despite the range of challenges, Alix has faced, she continues to showcase the skills and abilities of women in the commercial sales and leasing arena,” Mrs Percudani said.

“She takes an empathetic and in-depth approach to understanding her clients' needs when it comes to properties, and she is known for her fantastic communication and listening skills.

"We value someone who can do the job well, and this is Alix."

Realmark Commercial Retail Sales and Leasing Director, Michael Richardson reiterates Mrs Percudani’s sentiment, expressing his excitement for Alix and the prospect of more women in commercial sales and leasing.

“Since coming on board, Alix has gone from strength to strength, setting the standard a lot of the time for many others in the company,” Mr Richardson said.

“With her drive, determination, and commitment, Alix is proof that women can succeed in commercial property and I hope to see more women take that leap.”

Committed to promoting the development of women in commercial property, Realmark sets itself apart with great senior women representing commercial sales, leasing, and property management.

They are strongly behind the skills and development of women in the industry and are keen to showcase their abilities in order to encourage more women to join the sector.
